WHO I AM

Big question. I am the moment, space, and time. I am someone flowing like water in a river—sometimes like lava crossing fields, other times like the breeze between our bodies. I am what I am. I have never been what I didn’t want to be.
I was an angel,
Countless times a demon.
In that whirlwind of self-destruction, the only feather left from the wing of that angel saved me from eternal hell.
That feather was called motivation—something to get up for, something that unified my being, that taught me to love both the good and bad experiences, something that made me value each day, to appreciate the smallest things and also the grandeur of our surroundings.
Photography discovered me, embraced me, and saved me. I traded uncontrolled vices for one that balances and keeps me in harmony. Forty years have passed, living off you and you off me—some days in purgatory, but many more in paradise. The perfect combination?
Perhaps, for now, until I lose the key and remain in paradise forever.

I was born in 1961. At nine, I lost my father, an event that shaped my adolescence. I finished school without knowing what to do. I studied two years of engineering, then left to explore linear, architectural, landscape, and nude drawing, as well as a color expression course. I spent a month learning photographic lab techniques to apply to drawing, and it was in that lab that I became hooked on photography—love at first development.
I began with landscapes, and through life’s circumstances, I discovered advertising photography. It has supported me from 1987 to this day, though I always continue photographing landscapes and experimenting with diverse themes.
